Bill & His Miracles
In late 2016, during a medical procedure, Bill experienced a rare phenomenon: metal-based gadolinium contrast dye crossed the blood-brain barrier and coated his brain. He miraculously survived, but was left with vision impairment and ringing in his head. He took on watercolor painting as therapy. Every hand painted piece is a testament to his road to recovery. Having never painted before in his life, his art represents his unending perseverance to move forward and embrace something new instead of dwelling on what he lost. When he's not painting, he's with his wonderful wife, Cora, visiting their 3 children or playing with their 6 grandchildren. His namesake pictured here.

Commissioned Works
Bill Dowey can create the perfect piece for you or a loved one. His favorites are landscapes and home portraits but he has done a variety of works including dogs, florals, sports memorabilia (Cleveland sports are his go-to) and even a Bigfoot wedding! All pieces are originals that are meticulously hand painted. Artwork options include cards, cigar boxes and framed pieces ranging from 4x6 to 16x20. Pricing varies by size, artwork type and complexity, starting at $50 for a custom 4x6 watercolor.
